Sequinned Rainbow Hula Hoops! This is what I think the So Pretty Spangled shower cap design looks like anyway. This shower cap actually has the colours of a rainbow within the circle. These circles do look like they are made up of real sequins, to the point of having to look a little closer - except this is an embossed print. A very effective and a dazzling variation of what would be a plain Black shower cap otherwise. The fabric is similar to a Foil Jersey and would originally be specifically ideal for dance costumes. The Spangled shower cap was particularly challenging to embellish as so many colours are represented by the circles, and to pick up on one of those may not suit everyone’s taste. So a black sequinned heart it was, just to keep it neutral!
Unless you are of the younger generation (incredibly flexible!), rotating the hips to swirl a Hula Hoop around until you have had enough sadly does not come easily! Hula Hoops first appeared back in the 60’s and were all the rage back then! They cost next to nothing and provided hours of entertainment (not to mention the side benefit of being a natural form of exercise). Now most of us "older ladies" have a permanently attached spare tyre to swing around, not quite the Hula Hoop of childhood days, but the Ginger Rogers figure is still under there somewhere. Any attempts to swirl a hoop these days results the hoop encircling barely once at an odd angle over the hips before falling unceremoniously onto the floor! Then we hobble off holding our backs in little old lady style, mumbling something along the lines of "I used to do this for ages when I was a kid" or "why cant I do this any more?!!" So the So Pretty Spangled shower cap can perhaps be thought of as a fun way to reminisce over the good ol’ days. A fun design to play in the water with!
